I assume you are referring to when Kaufmann cancelled a performance of Die Walkure at the Met. But I remind you that this lead to something really incredible when Frank van Aken stepped in at literally the last minute and got to sing the role of Siegmund with his wife, Eva Maria Westbroek, singing the role of Sieglinde. He hadn't sung the role in 16 months and he had no real rehearsal. To me this is one of the most incredible stories in opera.
